Children aged six and under can be covered at no cost to the family. For older children, the monthly fee ranges from $10.00 to $35.00 for one child. The maximum amount a family will pay for coverage is $70.00 for two or more children.

Georgia Health Insurance Regions:
Georgia Medicaid
Medicaid coverage is available for people who would not otherwise be able to afford health insurance. Again, this coverage is available in all regions of the state.
In addition, Medicaid benefits are available to the following groups of people:
-
The elderly
-
Pregnant women
-
Those who are blind or disabled
If you are not sure whether you qualify for Medicaid coverage, you should apply for coverage anyway. A case worker will evaluate your application form and let you know whether you qualify for benefits under this program.
The plan does not pay benefits to the people it covers. Instead, Medicaid pays the healthcare providers directly for the services they provide.
Medicaid can be awarded for a three-month period retroactive to the date that you apply for coverage. The coverage will continue until you have a change in your financial circumstances that will allow you to arrange for a different type of health insurance coverage.
